Shadow's Challenge

I have added a second option for this challenge as a response to the excuses given by people who are afraid of scientific or governmental conspiracies they believe may exist with any agency looking for proof of psychic abilities. I urge anyone who may wish to participate in the JREF challenge to accept challenge #1 below, and anyone who is concerned with becoming a "guinea pig" or part of any possible conspiracy to accept challenge #2 below.

Challenge # 1

During my time of Occult study, I have spoken to many people who have claimed to possess the ability to do many fantastic things. I have heard some say that they can control someone's mind, levitate, astral project and so on. There are also many who claim to be “otherkin”. That is they think they are faeries, werewolves, aliens or some other non-human, mythological creature.

It is these people who are spreading complete and utter nonsense about the occult. To show that I am confident in my statements, knowledge and expertise in this area, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is.

I can not offer hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars. I am simply not an extremely wealthy guy. I will however, offer $2000 in US currency to anyone who can provide evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power. In addition, I will post their accomplishments on the main index of this website and admit that I was wrong in being skeptical of any such ability.

Now the catch:

In order to claim the prize, one must pass the JREF challenge. JREF is the James Randi Education Foundation. JREF offers $1million in US bonds to anyone who can achieve the above stated. You must notify me prior to taking the JREF challeng so that I can contact the organization to confirm your intentions of taking the challenge and so that I can make arrangements for them to notify me of your pass or fail status after the challenge. Failture to notify me prior to taking the JREF challenge will result in your claim for the reward being denied. I know that $2000 is nothing when compared to the $1million offered by JREF, but it shows the willingness I have to stand by my knowledge and my claims. In other words, I will put my money where my mouth is which is more than I can say for the people who boast their supposed "powers". To find the JREF challenge, click here.

Challenge # 2

Since it seems that everyone likes to throw the words "government conspiracy" into the mix every time someone asks for proof of psychic abilities, I am going to offer a second option to my challenge. In order to bypass any concern of becoming a "guinea pig" or being "poked and prodded" or "assassinated by government agents" (I'm not kidding, some people have actually said they would be afraid of this if they were proven to be psychic which if they are "psychic" wouldn't they see it coming before it happened and be able to avoid it anyway?) so I am offering the option for anyone to appear before myself and my wife in person with just a few people present to prove their claims. The conditions of this are as follows:

1) You pay your own travel fare to get to where I live. If you pass my test, this will be reimbursed.

2) You are to wear nothing but a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, and sandals to the test. No one else, save for myself, my wife, one person of your choice, and two witnesses (chosen from the faculty of East Tennessee State University) are to be present at the test. They will only be there for observation and will not be involved in the test.

3) No one will be within 35 feet of you during the test. You will be sitting in one chair with nothing else available to you.

4) I set forth the conditions that will determine pass or fail of the test. These conditions will be agreed upon between you and myself 48 hours prior to the test.

5) Before your travel, you will be mailed a legally binding contract that outlines the conditions of the test, what you are expected to perform, and under what conditions you pass or fail the test. This is to be signed and stamped with a notary seal and returned to me.

6) If you pass the test, you will be issued the $2,000 in the form of two U.S. Postal Money Orders worth $1,000 each. If you fail, you will be responsible for paying for your travel to and from my residence, any lodging expenses, and you will be responsible for reimbursing myself and my wife for any lost wages due to our taking time off from work to perform the test. Thus, as you can tell, we are only looking for serious applicants.
