What is DACA?

Darkness Against Child Abuse is not a charity. We do not want your money. No one associated with DACA will ever ask you for a dime! We are simply an organization dedicated to relaying the message and concerns of child abuse.

If you search the Internet for sites about child abuse, many of the sites that you come across are those that have become large charities and do not want to waste their time if you do not have money to give them. Others are sites that take a Christian approach to the problem. There are a few pagan sites but I have noticed that not many of the pagan organizations out there don't want anything to do with those who are Goth or into the darker aspects of Pagan religions and Satanism. I have extended invitations to some Pagan organizations to join DACA and they have refused due to the type of lifestyles and beliefs that support it. We target the part of society that other child abuse sites shy away from. There is also a difference between DACA and other sites that you may see linked to goth-modeling sites or "vampire" websites. This difference is that unlike other sites, DACA is run by people who are training to become profesionals in the fields associated with the topics covered here. I myself am curently earning a degree in Child Abuse Counceling and Anajiel is an Art Education major with a minor in Women's Studies, a topic that covers much on the issue of domestic violence. We are also commited to providing actual information that you can use right now and do not simply put up one or two pages with a couple of paragraphs in an attempt to get linked to other sites. Sure, we have a button campaign, but feel free to click on the links you find on our index, the time, passion and desire to bring about change shows in the work on this site. Another very important difference that sets us apart from imposter websites is that I personally am an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and as such I am bound by the professional standards they have set forth to provide accurate and truthful information and advance the science and validity of psychology.

DACA and the "Dark Community"

Simply because someone lives a “dark” lifestyle does not mean that they are any less a legitimate parent or that they turn a blind eye to the problems facing our children. DACA is here to serve as a place where those in darker lifestyles can come and educate themselves in an environment friendly to them. It is also here to show the rest of society that we care about our children and want to help fight the injustices that our children face at the hands of abusers. No community should be over looked on this subject simply because the rest of society has placed a stereo type on them or feel that they are unpleasant. Many people claim to have an open mind but it is amazing how many will close their mind when they are needed most.

As stated earlier, we do not want your money. If you wish to support us, simply display our button on your website. To show your support for us, click here and register your DACA button, then display it on your website. Registration is free and we ask for no personal information.

While other organizations hold expesive fund rasiers to pay their director's six figure salary, DACA is a labor of love and will grow as we do.

We are not interested in symbology or the ego trip politics of the Pagan and Satanic Communities. We are interested in action. Simply thowing money at a problem does not solve the problem. Action solves the problem. DACA is here for those who take action.

About the DACA Website

The DACA website is designed to have the best information that we can find. We have worked hard to have the most complete child abuse site on the web. We have also tried our best to make the website enjoyable. The design of the DACA site at this point contains Flash and Java Script and in the future it may contain Fireworks, DHTML and CGI Script. We recommend using a Flash capable browser with your security settings on a level that allows Java Script for the best compatibility with our site.

When a site links to DACA and a “Supporters” link is added to the DACA site, this does not imply that I or Darkness Against Child Abuse endorses the website or organization. What this means is, the organization or the person who registers their DACA image endorses the work of Darkness Against Child Abuse and they have agreed to the terms of use of the DACA image.

We will not participate in any degredation of any organization or individual. We are above any such activity. Our main concern is our work in raising the awareness and educating others on the subject of child abuse. Our actions as an organization will remain within the boundries of that work. We would hope that everyone else will put themselves above their own bias and predjudices to assist in our cause and realize that the safety of our children should not be a subject for use in petty arguments and mud-slinging.
